Creating a Skeletal Warrior
“Skeletal warrior” is an acquired template that can be added to any humanoid creature. A skeletal warrior retains all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities except as noted here.
Challenge Rating: As base creature +1.
Alignment: Always neutral evil.
Type: The creature’s type changes to undead. It keeps subtypes save for alignment subtypes and subtypes that indicate kind.
Armour Class: Natural armour as per skeleton.
Hit Dice: Change all of the creature’s racial HD to d8s. All HD derived from class levels remain unchanged. Skeletal warriors use their Charisma modifiers to determine bonus hit points (instead of Constitution).
Defencive Abilities: A skeletal warrior gains DR 5/bludgeoning, channel resistance +4, and immunity to cold, electricity, and polymorph. It also gains all of the standard undead traits.
Melee and Ranged Attacks: A skeletal warrior commonly fights with martial weapons, but if disarmed it can use a touch attack.
Damage: The skeletal warrior’s touch attack uses negative energy to deal 1d6 points of damage plus the skeletal warrior’s Strength modifier. Base creatures with natural attacks can use their natural weaponry or use the touch attack, as they prefer.
Abilities: A skeletal warrior gains +2 to Strength. As undead, it has no Constitution score.
